Why does katniss hate seneca crane
More to the point, Crane's actions ruined one of the primary purposes of the Hunger Games - they were supposed to be a reminder to the districts that the Capitol controlled their very existence, and could just as easily have had 24 people rounded up and executed at random, without giving them a chance to fight for their lives.
Crane's actions would later be repeated by Plutarch, who effectively collapsed the tradition of the Hunger Games when he secretly devised a plan to rescue Katniss from the Arena. Seneca is first mentioned by name when President Snow revealed to Katniss that Crane was executed for not killing Katniss and Peeta when he had the chance.
During her individual session with the Gamemakers, Katniss is trying to find some way to display her defiance.
The Gamemakers are shocked and horrified with her performance, and quickly dismiss her. President Snow didn't act like it was.
In fact, he seemed eager for me to know. Despite being the head Gamemaker in the Hunger Games, and the pleasure he showed in the dangers of the arena such as his delight in seeing the mutations that were created from the dead tributes as well as watching people die, Seneca Crane was not entirely evil and showed a degree of mercy by allowing both Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark to survive the Hunger Games.
His sentimental streak ultimately led to his execution. He seemed uncomfortable around President Snow, and did not fully agree with the way Snow ruled Panem, but it wasn't until Katniss brought out the berries that would kill both her and Peeta that he finally decided not to go along with everything Snow said.
He was well-known in Roman society. He held a seat in the Senate, but later he was exiled. Like Seneca Crane, he was also forced to commit suicide. The Hunger Games Wiki Explore. However, during the 15 years after the events of Mockingjay, Katniss became pregnant legitimately.
This act causes Katniss to unhinge for a point, fretting that they will kill him for his design of her wedding dress during the interview. They drag him away and, according to Plutarch Heavensbee, he is killed during interrogation. Despite Cinna's death, his designs live on in the third book, Mockingjay.
Peeta used the dyes to paint a picture of Rue after Katniss covered her with flowers when she died. He says he wants to hold them accountable for killing Rue, and Effie tells him that that kind of thinking is forbidden.
For the first time in a long time, Katniss distances herself from the Quell. Finnick Odair later reveals that, according to Capitol gossip, Snow uses the scent-enhanced roses to hide the ever-present smell of blood that comes from his mouth sores ; during his rise to power - and in an effort to keep it - Snow poisoned any potential rivals and often deflected suspicion by consuming the poisoned Snow would poison anyone who he saw as a threat to his power , and on at least one occasion he drank from the poisoned cup himself to remove suspicion of his involvement.

During the events of the Second Rebellion, Effie was said to be taken by rebels , and Katniss later finds out after the Capitol is defeated that Effie is still alive. Peeta and Katniss are matched up, and then there's Annie and Finnick, so why can't Effie and Haymitch get a little love, too?
Near the end of the movie , it finally happens. As they're saying goodbye, Effie and Haymitch plant a big wet one on each other. Katniss and Peeta saw this chance and took it, but once they had killed Cato, Crane announced that there could only be one victor.
His plan all along was to have Katniss kill Peeta or vice versa, because that's what the people in the Capitol love, but it went awry when Katniss suggested a double-suicide. There had to be a victor, so Crane allowed both of them to win, but Snow wasn't pleased. He had seen Katniss as the leader of the rebellion as soon as she had suggested the suicide instead of killing Peeta, so he wanted to take it out on someone. That someone was Seneca Crane, the man who had let the two tributes win.
He locked Crane in a room with nothing but a bowl of Nightlock - the berries that Katniss and Peeta were going to eat for the double-suicide. His only choices were to eat the Nightlock and die almost instantly, or to die of thirst and hunger. He chose the nightlock so that he could save himself from a painful and long death.
