Why is acer cheap
It even upgraded to Win10 with no problems, not even motherboard level drivers. I bought a refurbished Acer Aspire lappy roughly nine years ago, and I love it. It could use a new battery, but very rarely is it unplugged for any length of time.
IMO Acer makes junk. They're cheap because they use cheap components. You get what you pay for. Normally ranked at or near the bottom, small uptick this year.
Never again. Thank you for the links. Both sites rank Acer above Apple. The second link, Consumer Affairs, ranks brands such as Fujitsu and Gateway fairly high. Gateway doesn't even sell in retail channels in the US, and Fujitsu seems to be the same. Wonder how they did their ratings? How do you know they use "cheap components"? You disassembled one?
You know their parts vendors who they source components from and how to judge their quality? You can even search for your laptop by typing the SNID number.
Web chat is available from 5 a. And they take forever to answer a question. Looking for answers through social media? High-end options include accidental-damage protection. Most mainstream laptops come with a limited one-year warranty — Predator-branded gaming rigs get a two-year limited warranty. Select commercial Acer laptops read: exclusive to the Veriton line-up get up to a three-year limited warranty.
Need to send your laptop in to a repair-depot? You can get around this by purchasing two-way shipping as an upgrade. Acer is a budget brand, so you get what you pay for. But we feel that on final analysis, Acer is a good laptop brand. You now have the information to go out and make a solid choice should you decide that Acer is the laptop brand for you. Take it from me, Acer really does make everything worth it, especially in their top-of-the-line laptop models.
We all know that sometimes dealing with tech support can be a huge pain and a headache, but the experience I got was just pure reassuring bliss! Acer Predator is a monument in the gaming laptop community. Full disclosure: you get what you pay for in the budget laptop range of Acer. The parts may be easily replaceable, but the stress of getting repairs can be a huge hassle in the long haul!
There are a LOT of products in the Acer laptop arsenal, ranging from innovative premiums and sub-par budget computers. Having this wide range of laptops make the quality inconsistent as a whole, so it would be best to consider what you need in a laptop before taking the jump! Wondering about the general consensus about Acer? IMO all the other brands are pretty comparable. My mom and my sister have both had Acer laptops for many years now and they haven't had any problems with them. I'm not sure why they are cheaper aside from Acer being more aggressive with their pricing to try to win more sales.
If the glove don't fit you must acquit! Acer has treated me just fine. I haven't purchased a monitor that was not Acer in quite some time just based on value. They generally are garbage, at least that was the reputation 10 years ago when I was shopping for a beefy laptop my first and last laptop purchase. Doesn't acer have several lines? A few years ago, "aspire" was thier cheapie low price line, "timeline" was thier more expensive prosumer line and "travelmate" was thier more expensive business line.
