Why is huggies discontinued

Wilkinson pointed out that there had been significant growth in the own brand nappy segment in recent years, but that the company's research showed "consumers have a separate relationship with Pull-Ups, DryNites, and baby wipes versus Huggies nappies, and ultimately see them as a different brand.

He said this had fed into the strategy to refocus the business, taking into account that the Huggies brand had been priced at below the category average. Wilkinson was unable to comment on whether there would be any redundancies in the marketing department as a result of the news, but he stressed that part of this announcement was the news that the company is to refocus its marketing investment into its category leading brands such as Andrex and Kleenex.

See last answer. They stopped selling them last year. In Spring I think. It was in the news. You can still get the wipes though. Search for a thread. I use Pampers myself but a friend of mine swears by Lidil own brand nappys. No leakages and much much cheaper. It honestly kind of looked like glue. Huggies has said the shiny particles are not glass, blaming the sparkling substance on a rare case of fibers combining. Huggies said the particles do not pose a hazard.

In a statement , Kimberly-Clark KMB , the maker of Huggies products, said, "It is important to note that no glass is used during the manufacture of our wipes. The company also said in the statement, "Based on the findings of the independent testing, we are confident that our product is safe and poses no health risk to babies, so there are no plans to remove this product from the market. Kelsea Andrews, a Knoxville, Tenn. But what I was told by the customer representative is they have no idea what it is and they have had no moms send in their wipes.

All of these moms are keeping their wipes because they're expecting a lawsuit on their hands and don't want to give Huggies all of the evidence," said Andrews. It had the worst score for absorption out of the 4 diapers in it's price range, with Nature Babycare getting the top nod with a perfect 10 of While the absorption score was nothing to get excited about, the leak score was downright pitiful. With a score of 3 of 10 for leaks it came in below average compared to all the diapers. It was last for leaks out of the diapers in its price range, and close to last for the green diapers tested.

Alternatively, other green diapers scored higher in this metric with little to no price increase. The materials are very cloth like both inside and out, and it sports smaller tabs for added protection against baby rubbing on any rough edges. However, it only scored slightly above average with a 6 of 10 overall; it didn't really lose points, it just didn't gain any extra points.

Meaning the overall elastic, leg cuffs, and breath-ability of the side materials were nothing to sing about. It did however, manage to score better than both Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive , which each received a 4 of 10 score. But there were several cheaper diapers that scored better; including Walmart's White Cloud , which earned an 8 of 10 score, and even Huggies Little Snugglers with a 7.

Durability might just be this diapers biggest drawback, with the exception of it's misleading marketing, but we'll get to that in a minute it received a mere 3 of 10 for this metric.
